If one has to ponder the start of music, it is always an unsolved mystery as to the actual origin of music. There are various types and kinds of musical instruments each are made depend on the use and the region of its origin. Also the resources that is available in that region. Each place of the world has its own contribution toward giving the world an instrument. Not just the instrument but also the unique sound that is emitted from the musical instrument.
Drums are a common musical instrument that is widely used in any sort of music either to play in the background or solo. It adds to the entire melody of the music that is being played. It is percussion instrument which means that sound is produced when being hit, rubbed, scraped or shaken so as to produce vibration of the object. 'Membranophone' as it is technically classified usually consist of a membrane that is stretched over a hallow object so as to produce a sound when stroked against it. The thickness of the membrane delivers the pitch of the sound produced by the drum. Drums are not just used for performances but also in music therapy due to the tactile nature and easy to use feature.
Each country has its own contribution to giving the world their custom made drum. Each of these drums produce different sounds, though not very distinctively identified by a layman.Some of the types of drums are One of India's ancient and primary musical instruments in the classical music is a drum called 'tabla'. It is a set of two drums, 'bayan' and the 'dayan'. The 'dayan' sounds small, high pitches giving out a wide range of percussive effects while the 'bayan' sounds bass with low booming sounds. It is complex and sophisticated to play and it definitely requires extensive training and skill to play it well. Indian classical Tabla music always reminds you of the east and the definitely the Indian scenes run before your eyes the moment your ears listen to it.

In conjunction to this , there would be a musical performance called 'Tabla Triveni' by a trio tabla artists, Loren Oppenheimer, Sejal Kukadia and Michael Lukshis under the leadership of Pandit Divyang Vakil.Despite of being from a non -Indian background Michael and Loren have mastered the art of playing the instrument. A complete hour packed with musical bliss of various tabla compositions is sure going to be very entertaining and soothing to the audience. Until now learning how to play the bass guitar has meant a choice between struggling along on your own, expensive private guitar lessons or even attending evening group-classes. Now below is the general jist of how simple to follow this DVD is. In the example below, my girlfiend tried the Guitar DVD, but having checked over the Bass DVD its along very similar.


The guitar DVD contains everything you need to start play the guitar - and says that it 'can get you up and running in just one day'. Now when I first read that statement, I was a bit 'errr....whatever....' so I decided to give it to my worse half. She's been nagging me to teach her to play anything musical for ages, so I though I'd finally try and shut her up.

Now don't tell her I said this (she doesn't use the internet so I should be safe!) but she's a bit rubbish when I've explained musical stuff, so I wasn't holding much hope. (Even less after she rang me to ask how to get the DVD player on the telly - even my Gran can do that!). I was quite stunned to return from work and find that she could play a few chords (albeit slowly-slowly changing between them!) and she had grasped the basis of tuning it, even knew what quite a few of the bits were called! It was only through lack of time that she hadn't learnt Mozarts 5th...."

Basically the guy on the DVD, Dave Dixon, explains things so that a kid can understand it, without patronising older players too. (Either he's really good or I'm really bad at explaining!). A real bonus is that you don't need to read music or bass guitar tablature to understand it, its all there in real live video for you to learn from. Grand bit of kit.
